ABOUT

Maria Doumpa is a graphic designer with a background in editorial, branding, and visual communication across print and digital. She studied within the Fine Arts faculty at the School of Film, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, with a focus on film and visual arts, followed by an MA in Graphic Design at Falmouth University in the UK.

Since graduating, she has worked as a Junior Designer at the Institute of Directors (IoD), the UK’s longest-running professional membership organisation for company directors and senior business leaders. In this role, she collaborates closely with marketing, policy, and professional development teams to deliver a wide range of design outputs, including reports, publications, campaigns, and event materials.

She specialises in editorial and publication design, with a strong focus on structure, typography, and accessibility. Much of her work involves translating complex, policy-driven subject matter into clear, inclusive, and well-navigated visual formats across both print and digital platforms.

Alongside her role at the IoD, she has contributed to high-profile publications and collaborations, including Assessing the Expected Impact of Generative AI on the UK Competitive Landscape, a research report produced with London Business School examining the opportunities and challenges of generative AI for the UK economy; Progress Through Transparency: The Case for Mandatory Disability Employment and Pay Gap Reporting, a report launched in the House of Lords advocating for more transparent disability employment and pay practices; and the IoD Code of Conduct for Directors, a practical ethical framework designed to support responsible leadership and decision-making in UK boardrooms.

She holds EU citizenship and is currently based in London.
